I forgot all about posting in the afternoons, ’till I sat down to post this morning.
Night before last I had some weird dreams. One, I dreamed a chicken was flying through the door, and I swatted at it to keep it from flying in the house. I swatted the nightstand and woke myself (and my wife) up. Didn’t break anything on the nightstand. It was like an 8-bit chicken though, think 1980’s video game.
In another dream, my wife said “You’re always asking me if you can help me, now I need your help, and you won’t help me”. I sat bolt upright, looked around, wife sleeping, all quiet. I laid back down and went back to sleep. No video in that dream, just her voice. This one’s bugging me a little.
Now it’s Wednesday, I’ve been driving the car for about two weeks. Hasn’t rained on me. Might take the scooter today. It’s been thunderstorming every day, just not on me. It HAS rained at work, while I’ve been inside, maybe I better take the car…. We’ll see.
Have a good day!
I saw Pearl the chicken this weekend, first time in a long time. I took a handful of food for her and she took off like a bat out of hell.
I guess I got what I wanted, she re-integrated into the wild chicken world. But still I feel sad she doesn’t remember me. I still remember one day, when I came home from work, Hawk and Pearl were happy to see me and came running up. One landed on the cell phone case on my belt and the other landed on my briefcase.
I understand why bird people like birds.
Now we got the cats using the old chicken coop to take naps in.
Have a good life, Pearl!
Have a good week, Blogreaders!
Every morning My alarm goes off at 5, I get up, turn on the BBC and shave and shower. I get dressed, walk the dogs, feed the cats and chickens. Some days it takes longer than others, depending on the dogs. Today was one of those mornings, where it’s like dragging two rocks around on a rope. They both wanted to go different directions. Then they stop and stare up the road. They do everything except poop and pee. Finally, when I start heading back to the house, THEN they decide it’s time to head to the nearest bushes and take care of business. Why can’t they get out there, water the grass, lay down the big stinkie, and head back inside? Bip! Boom! Bam!
But then comes the big excitement when I finally do get all the animals taken care of, and I realize there’s nothing between me and a cup of COFFEE! Hoo RAY!
Hoo Ray rhymes with Thursday! (kinda) And that means that tomorrow is FRIDAY!
Hoo Ray! Havea good day!
It was a nice weekend mostly. We went out on the boat Saturday and Sunday. Saturday someone went with us and we had a “lesson” Sunday The Wife and I went out by ourselves.Sunday one of our chickens, Grey, died. She quit eating and drinking Saturday, (I noticed) and Sunday she died. Right before my eyes. I had her in a shady, comfortable spot, and later I looked out and she was laying in the sun, wings splayed. Then she got up, and tried to walk and fell over backwards. I ran down there and moved her to the shade again. I tried to give her some sugar water but she wouldn’t take any. Then she fell over and I knew I was going to die. Her legs quivered, and I saw her tiny chest rise and fall one last time, and she was gone. I think that was the first time I saw death like that. I knew what was happening. We buried her near her sister, Stripe.
So now it’s Monday, Here goes!
Above is a picture of our four little chickies!
It’s Friday! I don’t have anything in my head this morning. I have yet to take my first sip of coffee.
Tomorrow hopefully we will be going out on the boat for the first time!
Have a good weekend! !
I don’t know how to make bullet points on the internet.,,,
I woke up this morning thinking it was Wednesday.
Our boat wasn’t ready yesterday, we’re supposed to get it today,
I didn’t sleep too well last night.
I’m drinking my first cup of coffee.
There’s someone out shaking the mango tree I have a hard time dealing with it. I mean, people come, shake the tree, a few mangos fall out, get them and go. But no, they stay there, trying everything to get every mango out of the tree. Until I go say something, like I just did. I wish I could be diplomatic like my Wife.
I get the feeling that I’m not in a good mood today..
One thing I do like though, is our chickens. Yesterday we let them out in the morning, they were gone all day, and at sunset they came back and we put them in their cage and fed them. I like how they drink water as soon as they go inside. And they love mango. I don’t know what we’re going to do when there’s no more mangos.
Have a good day.
Seems like it was a busy weekend, Saturday The Wife and I went on errand runs. I went looking for materials to build a chicken coop, but ended up getting a good rabbit hutch that seems perfect for our little chickies.
Sunday I went to the beach, mowed the yard and smoked a cigar in the evening.
Let me ‘splain something to you about chickens. A chicken can run much faster, and is much more maneuverable in grass that is relatively knee high as opposed to grass that is over their heads. After cutting the grass, I let the chickens out for a walk, and couldn’t catch them. I had to call The Wife for help, and we ended up netting them with a towel. I caught the first two, no problem, but by then the second pair knew I was after them, and I didn’t stand a chance.
Then we watched a movie and went to bed.
Have a good week!
