I think this is one of the coolest things humanity has done or ever and maybe ever will do. I think these four spacecraft, (two Voyagers and two Pioneers), may very well exist longer than the human race itself.
Voyager 1 Probe May Have Left Solar System
Earth’s most distant spacecraft detected a sharp change in the intensity of fast-moving charged particles called cosmic rays, suggesting it had left the outermost reaches of the heliosphere marking the edge of the solar system. “Within just a few days, the heliospheric intensity of trapped radiation decreased, and the cosmic ray intensity went up as you would expect if it exited the heliosphere,” said Bill Webber, professor emeritus of astronomy at New Mexico State University
The scientists still don’t know for sure, however, whether the probe has entered interstellar space or if it remains in a mysterious in-between region Voyager team members first discovered a few months ago.
“It’s outside the normal heliosphere, I would say that,” said Professor Webber.

One of my favorite websites where I have been monitoring the Voyagers and the Pioneers is HERE. This website is also the best for getting info on viewing satellites in Earth orbit that you can see with the naked eye EVERY NIGHT! It’s called Heavens Above
I received a notification yesterday that I had a record number of followers for one day on my blog. Second Go.
I haven’t used that blog in months.
The blog you followed is: http://www.markd60.wordpress.com
This blog, (my only active blog) is www.markd60.com and is the only one to follow.
The reason for the confusion is that I use my wordpress account to comment on wordpress blogs and when you press the “follow” button, it follows the wordpress blog. I tried to add this blog to my wordpress profile, but have been unable.
(On my computer, I’m logged onto Google, which is blogger, and wordpress, which is oddly enough, wordpress. The approproate profile shows up on the comments you receive on your blogs from me.)
Sorry for any confusion. I want comments and readers on this blog.
Lately people have been doing this “stand up paddleboarding”. I don’t see the appeal. To me, it doesn’t look like much fun. First time I saw anyone on a kayak, windsurfing or hang gliding or sailing in a sailboat, I thought “Dang, now that looks cool!” But paddleboarding looks slow and boring. You have to have flat calm water and it looks terribly inefficient. On a kayak you can put your back into it and get going as fast as you can. Paddleboarding looks like the challenge is to stand up and paddle at all. Apparently it’s all the new rage, but I don’t see the thrill.
DO you see the thrill?
Baby Squid. as big as my thumb, hovering in mid water, I wasn’t sure I’d get good focus.
I call this piece of coral The Pinnacle. I have been swimming out to check it out as long as I have lived here.
These are artificial reef balls. Shaped like a gumdrop. Not much seems to be growing on them though.
This is an audio post about my opinion of the US Economy, and it’s downturn.
This makes me sad. I wish I could un-do it.
Years ago, I was walking on the beach and I found a brand new looking, plastic mouse cage. It was about twice as big as your grade school milk carton, Clear plastic with a fluorescent pink lid with bars. I thought WTF? and picked up and took it home.
Later that day, I was getting some dirt for a plant from a pile of dirt at the apartment and found a baby black snake. He was the size of a worm. The cage was perfect for him.
I had him in the cage for an hour or so, and decided he deserved to be free, so I let him go back where I found him. The cage rotted in the sun and I ended up throwing it away.
Two or three or four years later, I found a big blacksnake under my welcome mat. I killed it.
After I killed it, it occurred to me, “Maybe that was the same baby snake I found years ago” And as soon as I thought it, I knew it was true.
And I immediately regretted killing that snake and I still wish I hadn’t killed that snake. Why did I find that snake and that cage on the same day? I feel I definitely strayed from my path either the day I found the snake, or the day I killed the snake. Or both.
I’m going to try to make some adjustments at work. My normal hours are 8:30 till 5. This sucks because of traffic. Even on the scooter, it’s stressful, all the traffic. Sitting still, me, riding around the lines of traffic.. You know, in the car, scooters pass all the time. On the scooter, you hardly ever see another scooter, because we keep moving. You see them going the other way, but you don’t pass them often and they don’t pass you. Here’s a two and a half minute video of me passing traffic on the way in. This is torture for me if I am in the car.

So, getting back on track, I am going to ask if I can work from 7:30 to 4. Yesterday I went in at 8 and the traffic was still pretty bad, and the boss had no problem letting me go at 4:30. He said if I want to adjust my regular working hours, just request in writing. So that’s what I’ll do. I was going to wait till I finish my probationary period, it two weeks, but my boss seemed pretty agreeable to it.
Last night it got really windy and cloudy. The wind is blowing hard from the north. But it’s not too cold. I still can’t find a decent source for Cayman Weather, but I think I’m going to drive the car today.
Still having problems with my spam protection, causing me to moderate each comment. The problem is there is an authorization code that I can’t make “stick” in my settings page. I keep changing it and it keeps switching back to the old one.
And that’s it. Have a good day!
